This Privacy Policy describes how New Tab Grid ("we", "our", or "the Extension") handles your information when you use our Chrome browser extension.

Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information.

New Tab Grid stores the following data locally on your device:

• Bookmarks you add (URLs and titles)
• Your preference settings (icon size, theme, background, etc.)
• Cached website icons (favicons)

Data Storage

All data is stored locally using:

• Chrome Storage API: For bookmarks and settings
• IndexedDB: For caching website favicons

This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any external servers.

Third-Party Services

The Extension uses Google Favicon API to fetch website icons. When you add a bookmark, a request is made to Google's servers to retrieve the favicon for that website. This is the only external network request made by the Extension.

Permissions

The Extension requires the following permissions:

• storage: To save your bookmarks and settings locally
• tabs: To override the new tab page
• host_permissions (google.com, gstatic.com): To fetch website favicons from Google's API

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or transfer your data to any third parties. Your bookmarks and settings remain entirely on your device.

Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device, the security of your data depends on your device's security. We recommend keeping your browser and operating system updated.

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Export: You can export your bookmarks at any time using the built-in export feature
• Delete: Uninstalling the Extension will remove all stored data
• Access: All your data is visible within the Extension interface

Children's Privacy

The Extension does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Since we don't collect any personal information from any users, this applies to users of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
